Beck Brow Mykonos – BAS National Show Elite Classic Alpaca Auction Lot

Due to Covid-19, the auction is now cancelled – Congratulations to Bingfield Alpacas on their private purchase of Beck Brow Mykonos!

Beck Brow Alpacas are delighted to offer Beck Brow Mykonos up for bids at the British Alpaca Society National Show Classic Elite Auction 2020.  The auction of five select lots (plus 2 wild cards) will take place at 21.00hrs on Saturday 28th March. Telephone bids are by arrangement.

Mykonos is a fawn male who presents himself extremely well, having perfect conformation and a very attractive head type. He is well grown with stand-out presence and is already showing interest in working. This young male has a very stylish, fine and dense fleece on his solidly built frame. Closer inspection does not disappoint, revealing a fleece which is well organised and uniform in micron, both within the staple and across the fleece. His has a beautifully soft handling fleece which shines brightly even before opening.

Packed full of top-notch coloured genetics, we anticipate that Mykonos would be an asset to any breeder wishing to breed high-quality alpacas across the colours. Whilst we make no guarantees, his dark skin, muzzle and toenails (along with his pedigree) suggest to us that he will be capable of producing a depth of colour (could that even be black – time will tell!)

Beck Brow Mykonos  is sired by Timbertop CT Goldmine of Beck Brow (now owned Acton Hill Alpacas) who is a son of the renown Patagonia Celtic Triumph. Goldmine has produced outstanding championship-winning progeny, including Beck Brow On The Money and Beck Brow Vidal, both of whom have been retained as stud males working at Beck Brow. It is for this reason that we have decided to offer Mykonos for sale. A difficult decision but we do not have enough unrelated females for all.

Mykonos’ dam is the beautiful light fawn female who is Bozedown Delphi. Delphi was purchased at The Classic Elite Auction, where she was my selection from the Breeders Choice auction lot and was the top-priced alpaca. She went on to win overall Light Champion Huacaya at Showtime 2016 (her only time in the show ring). Delphi is sired by Bozedown Achilles an outstanding light fawn male renown for progeny with soft, bright, fine and uniform fleeces. Delphi is an extremely stylish female who is a key member of our core herd.

Mykonos is an exciting young male with excellent prospects.
